What is “Holiday Blues” or “Holiday Depression”

The holidays can be very difficult for many of us. Loneliness, pressure, financial strain, stress, difficult feelings and/or mental health conditions such as depression can manifest during this time. Some people report “holiday blues” at this time of the year.

Here are a few signs that may indicate some form of depression:

-        Social withdrawal

-        Mood swings and irritability

-        Apathy, hopelessness, or sadness

-        Sleeping or eating problems

-        Not enjoying the activities we used to enjoy
