Youth Counselling

Youth counseling is a specialized form of therapy aimed at helping young people, typically between the ages of 12 and 24, navigate the challenges of adolescence and early adulthood.

This type of counseling addresses a wide range of issues that youth may face, including:

1.      Mental Health Concerns: Addressing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and other mental health issues common among young people.

2.      Emotional Regulation: Helping youth manage their emotions and develop coping strategies for stress and frustration.

3.      Peer Relationships: Navigating friendships, bullying, and social dynamics that can affect self-esteem and well-being.

4.      Family Issues: Addressing conflicts at home, communication problems, or family dynamics that may be impacting the youth.

5.      Academic Stress: Managing pressure related to school, performance anxiety, and study habits.

6.      Identity Exploration: Supporting young people in exploring their identity, including issues related to sexuality, gender, and cultural identity.

7.      Life Transitions: Navigating significant changes such as moving to a new school, starting college, or entering the workforce.

8.      Substance Use: Addressing issues related to drug or alcohol use and promoting healthier choices.

Our counsellors try to create a safe and supportive environment where young people can express themselves openly and work on their concerns. We often use age-appropriate techniques, including talk therapy, and art therapy to engage youth effectively and help them build resilience and coping skills. Our goal is to empower young people to make positive choices and develop a healthy outlook on life.
