CVAP Counselling Services (Crime Victim Assistance Program)
We provide a safe, compassionate, and confidential space for individuals who have been impacted by crime or traumatic events. Our goal is to support victims, witnesses, and family members in their healing journey by addressing the emotional, psychological, and physical effects of trauma.

Key Aspects of CVAP Counselling

-
Emotional Support: Providing a safe space to process fear, anger, grief, or distress following a traumatic event.
-
Trauma Recovery: Helping clients work through symptoms of post-traumatic stress, anxiety, and depression resulting from victimization.
-
Empowerment and Safety: Supporting individuals in regaining a sense of safety, control, and confidence in their lives.
-
Coping Strategies: Teaching tools to manage emotional triggers, intrusive thoughts, and daily stress.
-
Restoration and Resilience: Encouraging personal growth, self-compassion, and resilience during the recovery process.
Our Therapeutic Approaches

Our counsellors use trauma-informed and client-centred approaches tailored to each individual’s needs and pace of healing. These may include but not limited to Somatic and Mindfulness-Based Practices, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Trauma Processing and Pain Management Strategies and Art Therapy and Expressive Techniques.
Funded by the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP) through the BC Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, these services ensure that eligible clients receive accessible, confidential, and comprehensive support. Our approach focuses on helping individuals rebuild trust, restore emotional balance, and reclaim their sense of well-being and empowerment.
